KOANimation Studios respects intellectual property rights and responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and equivalent local laws.
How to submit a takedown notice
Send a notice to dmca@koanimationstudios.com including all of the following:
- Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
- A specific description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (title, registration number where applicable, link to the original work);
- The exact URL(s) on KOANimation Studios where the allegedly infringing material is located (e.g.
https://koanimationstudios.com/g/abc123); - A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf;
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices may not be processed. Misrepresentations may subject you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
What happens after we receive a valid notice
- We remove or disable access to the content within a reasonable time, typically 1-3 business days.
- We notify the user who uploaded or generated the content, including a copy of your notice (with your contact information visible to them unless you redact it before sending — we do not anonymise notices).
- We may terminate the account of users with repeated, validated infringement claims, per our Terms of Service.
Counter-notices
If you believe your content was removed by mistake or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to the same email address (dmca@koanimationstudios.com) including:
- Your full legal name, address, phone number, and email;
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it previously appeared;
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal courts for the district where you reside (or, if outside the U.S., any district where KOANimation Studios may be sued);
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the original notice-giver;
- Your signature.
On receipt of a valid counter-notice we forward it to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action within 10–14 business days, we may restore the content.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that receive multiple validated DMCA notices will be terminated. This is required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(i) for us to keep DMCA safe-harbor protection.
Other jurisdictions
For takedown requests under EU/UK copyright law (or any other jurisdiction), use the same email and include the equivalent elements. We treat all credible notices the same way, regardless of legal regime.
